UK braces for ‘warmth dome’ with precise date 30C and scorching 10-day spell begins

Temperatures could exceed a sizzling 30C in the coming weeks as the UK prepares for a high-pressure ‘heat dome’.

Forecasters have ‘confidently’ predicted the cool start to Summer is about to be replaced with ‘exceptionally warm’ weather across the UK – even reaching northern parts of Scotland. The scorching temperatures, which are slated to blow over from the Azores and Africa could last for up to 10 days this month, following weeks of drizzle and grey clouds.

Experts over at Exacta Weather have highlighted the whole period ‘in and around’ July 10-20 as a particularly hot period – with temperatures peaking between the 15-17th.

“But, if things continue to develop as expected over the next several weeks, then there is no reason why we couldn’t see temperatures topping out at the mid to high 30s at the very least, particularly in more southern areas.”

Exacta Weather posted its predictions on Facebook, warning Brits to get ready for ‘some sort of potential heat dome scenario’. Weather maps show the UK covered in red, depicting high pressure throughout the 10-day scorcher.

According to the Mirror, the UK will begin warming up on Tuesday, July 9 as temperatures climb to a comfortable mid-20s. This should hold out throughout Wednesday. By Thursday, the mercury will improve yet again and will ‘explode over 30C’ the following day. However, the Met Office warns temperatures risk staying around average for this time of year due to an active steam running at ‘185mph’.

“That is going to be driving various weather systems as we go through the rest of the week and with that we do have some cooler air around which is why temperatures are several degrees below average for the time of year,” said forecaster Alex Burkill. He added that it is still likely to turn ‘quite a bit warmer’ during next week with the possibility of a Scandinavian high.

“When I say temperatures are rising they are only really rising to around average for the time of year nonetheless temperatures in July are fairly high so it is going to feel warm and even hot at times in the sunshine,” Burkill explained. But for now, it appears the UK will face another rainy weekend as the weather remains ‘unsettled and rather cool’.

In Northern Scotland, yellow weather warnings have been issued on Friday 5 July and Saturday 6 July, due to heavy rain that may cause ‘localised flooding and some transport disruption’. The Met Office says the flooding of a few homes and businesses is ‘possible’ while spray and flooding on roads may probably increase journey times.
