Air hostess says footballers and WAGs are finest flyers – for startling causes

An ex-Virgin Atlantic flight attendant says footballers (not a typo) were surprisingly the most humble passengers.

And while you may be scoffing, Skye Taylor spent 17 years looking after the rich and famous who jetted to the likes of Dubai and Las Vegas in first class.

She lambasted influencers and posh mums for being the worst flyers – but praised Premier League stars and WAGs for their admirable behaviour.

The cabin crew worker turned model told the Daily Star: “I would say generally the footballers, their wives and families are absolutely amazing and they are probably some of the nicest passengers because they have paid a lot of money and people can get that quite wrong sometimes.

“I don’t know footballers well but apparently I was serving one of the biggest players at Manchester United but I didn’t know. But they are so down to earth and polite and so respectful. Their girlfriends travelling with kids too – they are just lovely people in general.”

Her glowing remarks offer a much kinder perspective to top flight pros who are often accused of being out of touch with fans, who spend fortunes to support them.

And Skye gave further insight into why footballers were much easier to deal with compared to the celebrities, who loved being the centre of attention.

“Footballers are definitely the politest and you wouldn’t know who they are,” she said. “You didn’t sometimes and I would have to ask people and they would be like ‘oh that’s so and so’ and you think ‘oh my god’.

“They don’t treat people disrespectfully whereas you get the ‘I’m famous from TikTok ’ and I am like, ‘I don’t know who you are’.

“But it is creating a different generation from influencers who were on reality TV shows who were actually in the entertainment business but we are almost making up our own entertainment now.”

Skye eventually left the company after gruelling shifts left her with insomnia – before she embraced a contrasting career where no uniform is required (literally).

Despite being glad to be rid of constant jet lag, she loved her sky-high job, but claimed she earns much more from being her own boss as a content creator.

But although she was fond of the gig, she made it clear that dealing with rude influencers was not something she now misses.

Pulling no punches, she said: “The influencer type where maybe an agent gets them an upgrade can be quite hard to deal with because they can feel quite entitled.

“We have had incidents where we carry disabled or terminally ill children on and they go upper class and rightly so because a lot of them can’t travel in a normal seat.

“And that can cause problems as well with people not understanding that the child is poorly and some people can feel put out by that.”
