Walsall’s new football kit has been ridiculed for looking like Ronald McDonald’s costume.
The League Two club’s third strip is white with red and yellow stripes down the middle. It also has a trim in the same colours for the new 2024/2025 season.
But fans think it wouldn’t look out of place at McDonald’s, as reported on What’s The Jam. The prominent red and yellow parts on the shirt, made by match kit and teamwear brand Macron, have been compared to the fast food icon Ronald McDonald.

One supporter quipped: “Wait did someone say fries?” Another added: “You beat me to it.” A third said: “Would you like fries with that?” While sharing a photo of the fast food giant’s iconic clown mascot.
The third kit is available to buy on the club’s website with adult shirts starting at £49.95 and junior shirts coming in at £39.95. You can also nab the shorts too – for just £30 for juniors and £35 for adults.

Andrea Palilla, area manager for Macron said: “We’re incredibly excited to announce Macron’s latest partnership with Walsall and to be expanding further in to the world of English football.
“Our product development office has been working closely with the club’s senior management team over the last few months to ensure we deliver the best possible kit and training wear product for both the players and the supporters for the new season.
“We are confident that the new match kits will be able to convey the love and sense of belonging to the club’s colours, both on and off the pitch.”
Walsall’s shirt sponsor is discount retailer Poundland, who became their principal partner for three years in the largest commercial partnership in the club’s history when they signed up in 2022. The team’s ground is now called the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
