“Mystic meerkats” predicted England will win their Euro 2024 semi-final. The psychic animals have had their say on the huge clash with the Netherlands – and it’s good news for Three Lions fans.
These clairvoyant critters, at Drusillas Park, a zoo in East Sussex, have been bang on with their predictions throughout the tournament, leading their keepers to believe they’ve got a real knack for foreseeing footie results.
The England squad is set to clash with the Netherlands tomorrow (Wednesday, July 10) in the semi-finals after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out win against Switzerland last Saturday.

If these meerkats’ track record is anything to go by, it looks like England’s boys are in for a win.
To make their mystical match forecasts, the meerkats choose between two buckets of nuts with a flag representing the competing teams.
Before the furry forecasters are let loose, the nut-filled containers are placed side by side. The bucket that attracts the most meerkat attention is tipped to be the victor, and so far, the England bucket has been the outright favourite.
Head keeper Gemma Romanis has warned not to underestimate their prophetic abilities, stating that all the keepers have “everything crossed” for an England victory.
“I think we were all quite surprised with Saturday’s result, when yet again the England squad came through when we really needed them to,” Ms Romanis she said.
“It just goes to show, that you shouldn’t doubt the mystic meerkats psychic powers.”
Discussing their latest prediction, Ms Romanis added: “So we don’t think it will be an easy match for the Lions.
“But they do seem sure England will pull it out of the bag again and make it through to the finals.
“We’re all keeping everything crossed for the England team and hoping they win as the meerkats have predicted.
“The meerkats have already forecast that England have what it takes to play their way into the finals, so it’s a double vote of confidence from them. Let’s hope it comes true on Wednesday.”
