Two sisters were killed at home beside their mum in a horror ‘crossbow’ attack. The family are understood to be that of BBC racing commentator, John Hunt.
BBC Five Live racing commentator John Hunt is reported to have returned to his £800,000 Bushey, Hertfordshire home to the horror scene of his wife Carol Hunt, 61, and two daughters Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, seriously injured. All three of them were later pronounced dead despite the best efforts of medics.
Hertfordshire Police are now hunting their suspected killer, 26-year-old Kyle Clifford who allegedly fled the house in Ashyn Close, Bushey, before 7pm on Tuesday evening (July 9). Clifford is understood to be the ex-boyfriend of Louise.
Husband and father John’s employers BBC Sport noted to staff, the deaths are “utterly devastating”.
Members of the public have been urged to dial 999 “straight away” if they see Clifford but warned against approaching him as he may still be armed.
Tributes have been pouring in for the daughters of John and wife Carol, 61. Dog groomer Louise, has been described as “gorgeous” and “hardworking” by a neighbour.
She launched a Groom and Glow during the coronavirus lockdown while her sister Hannah owned a beauty business.
Local resident William Nourallah spoke about 25-year-old Louise, saying: “She was a gorgeous girl. She really was a young, hardworking girl. I met the mum once or twice because she opened the door for me. I met the father.
“She was happy every time I saw her. We would have a laugh and a joke. She was a beautiful young girl. It’s a waste of a life.’
Kind words were also left on social media, reading: “No words can describe the loss I feel after today’s horrific news. You were so loved and Scooby adored you…you built up an amazing business and were always so kind and gentle. May you RIP with your sister and mum xxx.”
Another wrote on Louise’s business Instagram: “RIP Louise, Hannah and Carol, Louise, Posty and I will miss you and I’m so heartbroken that this has happened to you and your lovely family”
“RIP beautiful ladies,” a second wrote.
Louise ran a TikTok channel for Groom and Glow Groomer, giving followers an insight to her work with dogs.
Just last week, older sister Hannah told followers her own business Instagram Hannah Grace Aesthetics, how rushed off her feet she’d been with work. With 12 years experience delivering beauty treatments, she spent the last five years self-employed as a mobile beauty therapist.
Hannah said: “You may have noticed my posts have been few and far between recently this is just because I have been so busy with clients every day. This post is just to say I am still here and available for appointments. I highly recommend booking all of your summer appointments in now to avoid missing out.”
Tragically she signed off a post earlier this year, saying “Here’s to the future.”
Speaking at a press conference at Hatfield Police Station, Chief Superintendent Jon Simpson said the attack is believed to have been “targeted”.
Addressing suspect Kyle Clifford directly, he said: “Kyle, if you are seeing or hearing this, please make contact with the police.”
Detective Superintendent Rob Hall from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “This is an incredibly difficult incident for the victims’ family and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened.
