A dad has been praised for his loving response to his daughter’s break-up after she shared her call with him on social media.
Lorella Palmer, who posts online as @lorellapalmer, was having a “therapy session” from her dad after walking away from a six-year relationship after things turned sour. The stunning fitness influencer was feeling guilty for giving up a lot of good times because of the bad ones.
However, her dad did his best to reassure her that she didn’t do anything wrong in choosing herself. His heartwarming message went viral online after Lorella shared a clip from their video call as a message to reassure anyone going through the same thing that it does get better.
In a video, which has gained more than 773,000 likes, her dad was on a video call with her on her laptop as he delivered his heartfelt message. He said: “It was never your fault. He did what he did, his actions. He’s the only person accountable for his actions. The f*****g a*****e.
“You didn’t do this pudding. And you’re not the first young, pretty girl to have this happen to you. He’s the only person who did that, and he’s not anything to do it.”
He went on to share a a story about a boyfriend his mother had who would get angry when he came home from work and how his mother would blame herself for his behaviour. “It wasn’t my mum’s fault. He was a f****g a******e,” he continued.
“She would make excuses. And it’s not your fault. It’s really, really not your fault.” He told her that it was easy for her to blame herself for not leaving sooner, but insisted that she shouldn’t.
