A couple with a 37-year age gap shared an important update on the baby they’re expecting together.
Cheryl McCain, 64, is already a mum to seven children and a gran to 17, but she’s set to become a mum once again when she and her husband Quran McCain, 26, welcome their first child together via surrogacy.
The couple announced their baby news in May this year, but on Wednesday (July 10) shared a new bombshell about their journey.

In a video posted to Quran’s Instagram account, the couple shared footage from their recent gender reveal party, where the pair announced they are expecting a baby girl.
The clip showed Cheryl, who turned 64 on July 10, proudly wearing a pink dress and a sash reading “Mummy to be” as the couple opened up confetti cannons to signify their impending arrival will be a girl.
People were quick to comment, as one fan wrote: “Congratulations to the both of you, I was team girl too, she is going to be a well took care of and a blessed beautiful little princess, and y’all are going to be wonderful parents.”
A second wrote: “Aww a baby Cheryl that’s so sweet I’m so happy for you guys,” while another defended the couple’s age gap and posted: “You both are a cute couple. Age is just age. We see you both love each other unconditionally.”
However, there were also some critics who said bringing a baby into their relationship was a bad idea, as the child could potentially lose their mother at a younger age than most.
Someone argued: “That poor child isn’t going to have a mother,” while another stated: “Absolutely devastating for that baby.”
Cheryl and Quran celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary in September last year, and shut down some cruel trolls as they made a proud display of their love online.
Captioning a TikTok video at the time, Quran wrote: “Happy to celebrate being married for two years to my amazing queen, I pray God bless us with many more, happy anniversary baby.”
Quran proposed to Cheryl at an Olive Garden restaurant in July 2021 with a $3,000 (£2,200) engagement ring. He previously said: “I was extremely nervous before and I tried my best to keep my composure but I was crying as soon as we entered the parking lot.
“There are many reasons why I chose to make Cheryl my wife. She’s beautiful, elegant, strong, noble, honest and compassionate. Cheryl was shocked as she didn’t know I was going to propose but it made her feel special.”
