Jay Slater’s desperate family hope England’s final match tonight could lead to an important breakthrough in the search for the missing lad.
Tenerife’s pubs, bars and clubs are likely to be heaving tonight as England clash with Spain in the Euros 2024 finals, with businesses predicting tonight’s match will spark the “busiest and wildest” weekend of this summer to date.
It’s expected scores of British tourists will flock to the various watering holes across the party island to show their support for the Three Lions.

Likewise, locals will be out in droves cheering Spain on, including in and around the area Jay was last seen on June 17.
With more people out than usual, a source close to Jay’s search party has said the revelry could be an opportunity to find new evidence as to the whereabouts of the missing teen.
They told The Sun: “The volunteers involved in the search for Jay think it can present an opportunity to raise awareness of the work they are doing to try and find Jay.

“It’s a chance to underline how they are still desperately in need of information.”
The source added that searchers are eager to speak to locals who haven’t been following the case, believing there might be a clue or lead that could “change everything”.
The apprentice bricklayer form Lancashire disappeared after he went back to the Airbnb of two Brits he met at a rave on June 16 in the early hours.

He left the remote holiday let, found in a mountain village of Masa the following morning. It’s believed he tried to catch a bus before setting off on an 11-hour trek back to his own accommodation, when he called his pal Lucy to say he was lost, thirsty and had just 1% left on his phone.
His disappearance sparked a massive search, which failed to find any clue of the teen. Spanish authorities called off their search after two weeks, although the case is still open and they are continuing to follow several lines of enquiry.
Jay’s family remain ion the island desperately scouring the mountainside around Masca for a sign of the 19-year-old and are convinced that someone has information on his whereabouts.

The source continued: “They will be asking bar owners to put up posters and volunteers will be on the ground in and around the busiest areas trying to speak to people as well in their search for answers.
The source added that the family are desperate for new clues and information, adding: “They’ve not given up hope but with each passing day it does become obviously harder to stay positive. They just want Jay home.”
It’s understood that Jay is an ardent football fan, and was due to watch the Euros with family and friends. Jay remains missing after vanishing almost a month ago.
