The 25-year-old had a disappointing UEFA Euro 2024 scoring just one goal – a penalty against Poland – as France struggled to the semi-final before being outclassed by eventual tournament winners Spain.

Later on Tuesday, Mbappe voiced his admiration for the club in a press conference, he said: “I knew that my destiny was to play for Real Madrid and that one day I would achieve that goal.

“Now I’m so lucky and thank God the dream came true. Now I want to make the most of the experience and enjoy it as much as I can.”

Mbappe will be linking up with an already star-studded line-up that won the Champions League last season with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr in their ranks.
