Liz Truss has gone on a bizarre rant about showerheads at a breakfast event at the Republican National Convention in the US.
The former Prime Minister flew to Milwaukee to tell an audience she has a Liberty Bell showerhead “which is an exact replica of the showerhead that President Reagan has in his ranch in California”. Ms Truss addressed a breakfast for members of the Pennsylvania delegation at the convention, which is taking place July 15-18.
In a video, obtained by the i newspaper, Ms Truss told the crowd: “I have to confess I’ve never been to Pennsylvania. But I do have in my possession, a Liberty Bell showerhead, which is an exact replica of the showerhead that President Reagan has in his ranch in California, which I recently visited.
“And I will be proudly installing this showerhead as a symbol of liberty and democracy and of course Pennsylvania because you all know why you’re so important, which is this is a crucial state in order for President Trump to be reinstalled in the White House.” A huge cracked Liberty Bell is a famous landmark in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is an iconic symbol of American independence.
Ms Truss has spent a considerable amount of time in the US since her disastrous tenure as Prime Minister. She toured the country when she released her book, in which she shamefully defended her decisions in No10.

The Mirror earlier this week revealed Boris Johnson had also flown to the US convention. Humiliating photos obtained by the Mirror show the former Prime Minister addressing rows of unfilled seats in a hotel ballroom in Milwaukee.
Separately Nigel Farage, who is also in attendance, was confronted over ditching his constituency for the convention just two weeks after being elected MP for the area. In an excruciating interview, Emily Maitlis cornered the Reform UK leader to ask whether he found America “more exciting” after fleeing Clacton. Mr Farage insisted he “had to come” to Milwaukee in the wake of the attempted assassination attempt of Donald Trump, who he has been “friendly with” for years.
