A teenager came to Reddit with a conundrum most people would envy after after winning the Set for Life Lotto.
The youngster said they were set to head off to uni before their windfall which sees lucky winners bag £10k every month for the next 30 years.
The win has left the student questioning whether they should still go on to study and whether or not to tell friends and family of their fortune.

But hundreds of people were quick to wade in with their opinions with many of them saying the same thing.
In a post on Reddit, under the heading: ” I am 19, I have won the set for life lottery. What should I do?” the teen wrote: “I’m unsure on what to do with money. I’m going to uni this September, don’t even know if I should go. But what else what I even do?
“Any recommendations on what to do with the money?
“I am unsure if I should tell anyone. One side is saying yes because it isn’t a large lump sum amount of money, people can’t really ask for anything. But another side is saying to not say anything.
“I also don’t know how to explain where this money came from if I don’t say anything.
“What should I do?”
One said: “DO NOT TELL ANYONE. if they are curious that you have money, say you ‘made some wise investments when you turned 18 and they’ve just matured. Not much but it means I’m comfortable.’
“Perhaps pay yourself a ‘wage’ from it and save the rest. £2k a month should be more than enough to live on at uni. Saving £8k per month after 3 years at uni will be enough to buy a small property outright. Or significant equity to a decent property on mortgage.
“Do lots of volunteer/ odd jobbing. You won’t need to work until you’re 49. And best case if you’re wise with the money will not need to work ever. So make sure you find something you enjoy to occupy yourself. Finding a job you enjoy will be the key. The pay won’t matter.
“I dream every week of my plans for the money when I win it. You get to live it!”
Another added: “I would say maybe don’t immediately buy a house after university unless you have some serious hardcore ties to some specific area you already know you want to live in for the next decade.
“With that level of free constant income you have the freedom to figure out where you might want to live, you can rent in other cities, live with housemates, move to other countries.
“Basically, don’t rob yourself of the experience of being in your 20s by buying a house on an estate in a British suburb.”
While another advised: “1. get independent financial advisor, 2. pretend you don’t have the money and live life, go to uni for experience and social etc, 3. remember it’s life changing but not unlimited, 4. not financial don’t let it change you, don’t get into drugs/drinking out of boredom or lose respect for others/yourself, pick up a few hobbies you enjoy.”
Another well-wisher said: “Don’t tell anyone and go to uni. You don’t have to splash anything around, just act like a regular student.
“At least you can enjoy yourself and not have any debt pressures when you graduate, and it’ll give you time to think about things.
“I suppose the other option is going travelling for a while.”
One added: “Disable private messages right now!”
