Mr England ‘disaster’ averted as hunks start to queue up – however there’s one downside

The organisers of Mr England, who were previously facing a crisis due to a lack of entries, have now been swamped with applications, putting an end to the fears of a national “hunk shortage”.

In just one week, over 100 lads have thrown their hats into the ring for the chance to become the next Mr World, after it was revealed that only a few had initially signed up.

Angie Beasley, the organiser, mentioned that men had been “shy and slow” to step forward, leading her to enlist the help of Miss England Milla Magee.

Lifeguard Milla, also known as the ‘Cornish Pamela Anderson’, took to her local beach in Newquay with a wanted poster on a surfboard to attract ‘handsome men’.

The appeal seems to have worked, as dozens of lads, including a wrestler, a police constable, an army reservist and a boxer, suddenly started applying.

However, the competition is still seeking more candidates aged between 17-27, as most of those who applied fall into the older category.

Angie stated: “We have had a surge of entries in the past week but its mainly the older generation that are entering.

“A contestant age 67 entered which is slightly over the entry age for Mr World but its good to see the applications coming through now.

“Entry age for Mr England this year is 17-41 as we are sending winners to both Mr World in Vietnam which takes place in September and Mr International in December in Thailand.

“So both winners will get to travel afar this year.”
