WWE icon Kane looked completely unrecognisable from his wrestling days while appearing on Sky News today (July 23).
Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, 57, was known as the ‘Big Red Machine’ during his wrestling days and now fittingly serves as Republican mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. Fans were treated to a surprise appearance from Jacobs, who popped up on a Sky News programme covering the US election.
In the clip posted to Twitter/X, Jacobs spoke about Joe Biden’s failing memory and health issues, questioning how much vice-president Kamala Harris knew about the situation.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
“What did Kamala Harris know? When did she know it? And who is actually president of the United States – who is making those decisions?,” he asked the Sky presenter Mark Austin. “Ms. Harris is saying she didn’t know there was anything wrong with the president.
“However, a month ago – right after the debate with Donald Trump – she said on TV that everything is fine, he was thinking clearly and giving advice to leaders around the world.
“So, she either ‘knew’ [about Biden’s poor health] and was covering that up, or she was willingly ignorant of the situation – either way that’s a bad place to be.”
“Good god almighty that’s gotta be Kane!!” wrote one viewer underneath the clip, referencing the wrestler’s infamous WWE debut in 1997.
Making his name during WWE’s ‘Attitude Era’, Kane was cast as the rival and brother of The Undertaker.
He became a 12-time tag team champion, a two-time world champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion and holds the all-time elimination record of 44 in the Royal Rumble.
But in March 2017, the wrestling community was shocked when the Big Red Machine announced he was ditching the ring for politics, running for the mayoral seat of Knox County, Tennessee, as a Republican.
The WWE legend, known as the ‘Devil’s Favourite Demon’ for his towering presence and hellish persona, clinched the Republican primary on May 1, 2018, and won in the general election on August 2, 2018.
On August 4, 2022, the people of Knox County re-elected him as their Mayor.
Swapping his iconic red mask and sinister get-up for sharp suits and a beaming grin, Jacobs has embraced his role as Mayor with open arms.
Standing at a colossal 7ft and weighing in at 323lbs, the WWE Hall of Famer cuts an imposing figure in his mayoral publicity shots, often overshadowing everyone else in the frame.
Reflecting on his decision to enter the political arena, he said at the time: “It is something that I have considered for quite a while. I’ve always been interested in government and politics ever since I was a kid and now getting into it is a bit of a culmination.”
