When Chloe Kelly tied the knot to her long-term boyfriend Scott Moore her nerves reached new heights, trumping pre-match jitters by miles.
The feeling was so strong that the Lioness, 26, who plays for Manchester City and England’s national team, was up every few hours the night before her Cheshire wedding at Merrydale Manor in Over Peover on 24 July.
Being one of seven children, it was her family’s calming presence that made the day so special, along with her footballer bridesmaids, Ruby Mace and Steph Houghton.
‘It was so important for us to have both our families be part of our day,’ the 26-year-old told British Vogue – a statement that also included her ‘babies’, meaning her dogs Otis and Rolo, who donned tuxedos for the event.
After the formalities concluded, the newlyweds partied with their nearest and dearest until 2am and then kept the party going in a kitchen disco at their house until 4.30am.

It was the shop assistant that picked out her Galia Lahav wedding dress, a flowing gown complete with a high neck and embellished sleeves.
Her bridal look was complete with a matching veil from the same brand along with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and jewellery from London-based Bucherer Fine Jewellery.
Chloe, who typically keep her makeup low-key on a day-to-day basis, opted for a glamorous look for the occasion, put together by celebrity makeup artist, Selina Bassi.
Hair stylist Michael Gray worked his magic on her hair, styling Chloe’s blonde tresses into a half updo style, though the pair initially settled on an entirely different option.
‘I’m lucky we did the wedding so quickly, otherwise I’d just keep changing my mind about things,’ she told Vogue.
It was a final look that reduced her bridesmaids to tears, with her father also telling her she looked beautiful.
The England ace’s bridesmaids wore black silk dresses for the wedding, which was also attended by footballers Gabby George, Sandy Maciver and Mayumi Pacheco.

The footballer’s triplet brothers, Ryan, Jamie, and Martin, were three of Scott’s groomsmen, and her sister Paris was her maid of honour.
Chloe recalled: ‘Looking back on it, it was a proud moment for us both that we did it all ourselves.’
After the ceremony took place at 2pm, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes before moving into the dining room and listening to speeches.
Guests later dined on a roast chicken dinner and a trio of desserts, before the couple sliced into a four-tiered cake, with each layer having a different flavour – Victoria sponge, red velvet, carrot cake, and lemon and raspberry sponge.
At half seven, cocktail hour commenced, before Chloe and Scott took to the dancefloor for their first dance to ‘Never Change’ by Picture This.
DJ Tony Perry then took the reins, entertaining guests with music until the early morning, along with saxophonist, Adam Holloway.
Magician Jamie Segrave also kept guests amused. Taking to Instagram, he explained his biggest trick of the day.
He wrote: ‘When I arrived, I handed Chloe and Scott a parcel to keep hold of which would be important later. They kept it until I was just about to leave.
‘I took one of their friend’s phones and saved a prediction on her camera roll. Then, I asked Chloe to think of a number between 1-100.
‘I then asked her to look in my notes, there was a list of 100 past and present footballers, she looked at the footballer on her number and was now thinking of a random baller.’

Chloe selected the number 22, which was Thierry Henry on the list. Proving his skills, Jamie correctly predicted her choice, and the package he handed the couple at the start of the ceremony was a shirt with the French footballer’s name on it.
While her plunging evening gown was nearly ruined by a red wine spillage, the footballer luckily laughed it off and kept on dancing until 4:30am.
Earling-born Chloe rose to prominence during last year’s World Cup, during which she scored England’s winning penalty against Nigeria.
Just one year before that she had been a substitute for all six of England’s matches during the Euros, having only just recovered from a ligament injury she suffered in 2021.
She has been in a relationship with Moore, who is thought to work for a golf centre, for more than five years and they have largely kept their romance out of the public eye.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2023. Over the festive period, Chloe took to Instagram to share the happy news after Scott got down on one knee in a romantic Northern Lights proposal in Iceland.
The footballer shared a snap as the pair wrapped up in the snow against the lit up green sky.
Showing off her diamond ring she posed with her hand on her fiancé’s chest as the couple beamed for the snap. She captioned the post: ‘The easiest YES. Here’s to forever with you’.
Chloe also shared a close up of the ring as she skated across the snow in a husky pulled sleigh.
The sportswoman was overwhelmed with heartfelt messages from her fellow teammates and celebrity pals as they swarmed the comments.
