Catfish were spotted wriggling along a residential Florida driveway as Hurricane Debby continues to hit the US.
Joanna Mack and her husband were freaked out by the unprecedented scenes when they opened their door and spotted two catfish knocking about in their front yard in Pinellas Park on Sunday. “We have lived here for 10 years and have never seen this before,” said Joanna.
For nearly a week America’s east coast has been lacerated by Hurricane Debby, with Florida, Georgia and North Carolina the worst hit states. At least five people have lost their lives while the brutal nature phenomenon has recently been classed a category one hurricane.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
Joanna said she thought the heavy rain from Hurricane Debby caused a nearby pond to overflow and send the fish towards her house.
The couple used shovels and fishing rods to help push the out-of-place fish toward storm drains that ran either side of the drenched street.
“When the rain stopped, we went out and found them and put them back from whence they came,” said Joanna.
Another bloke named Dan Ciarletta took to X/Twitter to post footage on social media of another catfish struggling to swim in shallow floodwater outside his home in St. Petersburg, Florida.
“Catfish in my driveway as streets turn into rivers,” he said on X.
The unusual scenes are similar to a prophecy from the Bible – 2: Esdras – which states the world will near an end when fish come out of the sea after a period of vicious natural disasters.
According to the New York Post, “life-threatening” flooding is set to continue this week, as the centre of Debby slowly slides off the Georgia coast and back towards the Atlantic. The storm has now weakened to a “tropical storm” and is currently passing over Georgia and the Carolinas.
