London’s prepare and Tube community in chaos for rush hour commute

Commuters faced chaotic rush-hour train journeys to work in London today after a trespasser paralysed services with other lines impacted by separate issues.

Chiltern Railways cancelled all services in and out Marylebone station indefinitely due to a person on the tracks at Willesden Green in North West London.

It meant the Metropolitan Line had no service between Wembley Park to Aldgate while the Jubilee line was suspended from West Hampstead and Wembley Park.

One commuter tweeted: ‘Try to go into work. Met and Jubilee suspended due to a ‘trespasser’ on the track at Willesden Green. Very long.’

Another added: ‘Good start. Been chucked off at West Ruislip. Line blocked at Willesden Green.’

A third said the incident had ‘cost me £25 to get to work as there’s no trains at all’.

Separately, the Docklands Light Railway was completely suspended due to a signal failure in Poplar.

The District line had severe delays between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon, Richmond, Ealing Broadway and Edgware Road due to an earlier faulty train.

And the Bakerloo line also had severe delays between Elephant and Castle and Queen’s Park due to signal failure at Charing Cross.

Greater Anglia and CrossCountry said all lines were closed between Bishops Stortford, Stansted Airport and Cambridge due to an emergency incident.

There was also major disruption between St Pancras and Luton due to a signalling issue which impacted East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services.
