Cadbury have confirmed that a much-loved chocolate bar will not be making a return to shelves anytime soon – despite pleas from fans.
The confectionary brand has pumped out a whole variation of treats over the last 200 years of their existence. And, in that time, we’ve seen chocolate bars come and go.
In recent weeks, fans of an iconic 90s bar have taken to social media to beg Cadbury to bring it back after being cut from production a whole 19 years ago.

That’s right, the Spira – thought to be the ‘best chocolate bar ever’ to fans – is most certainly not returning anytime soon.
In a recent statement to Sky News, a Cadbury spokesperson said: “We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and our business.
“Our Spira bars were discontinued several years ago but we still have plenty of other delicious sharing bags for consumers to choose from!”
Fear not, though. As Cadbury have sweetened the deal after they’ve announced two brand spanking new products, and it’s re-defining chocolate bars as we know it.
Welcome to the world Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier & Nuttier bars! To help make snacking easier, Cadbury have merged picking at fruit, nuts and chocolate all together.
Now, you might be thinking fruit and nut chocolate bars already exist. But, this one is a bit more catered to the health nuts (if you pardon the pun).
The snacking bars coming in two flavours – original and orange – are made up of 70% fruit and nuts, instead of just being very heavy on the chocolate.
That means you’ll feel less ‘guilty’ with just a layer of chocolatey goodness to savour.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier & Nuttier Bars are now rolling out from now across major retailers nationwide and are available in single bar format (£1) and in multipacks of 4 x 30g bars in both original and Orange Boost flavours (£2.50).
Abi Eayrs, Cadbury Brand Manager, comments: “We are delighted to introduce the new Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier & Nuttier bars offering exciting on-the-go snacking alternatives for Cadbury fans.
“It’s a treat that stands on its own scrumptious merits and we are excited to see the response as these new products land on shelves.”
