I’ve always considered myself a bit of a thrill-seeker, but nothing could have prepared me for what Thorpe Park had in store.
I decided to test my mettle against the UK’s most intense theme park, and believe me, it did not disappoint. Arriving bright and early, I was buzzing with excitement.
The first ride I tackled was Stealth, the behemoth that catapults you from 0 to 80mph in under two seconds. My heart was pounding as I strapped in, and before I knew it, we were shooting into the sky like a rocket.

The wind whipped through my hair, which I always worry is going to get ripped out, and my screams mixed with the roar of the engine. It was over in a flash, but my adrenaline was already through the roof.
Next up was The Swarm, the winged coaster that dangles you over the edge of your seat, making you feel like you’re about to dive straight into the ground.
The near-misses with debris and fire effects had me clutching the harness for dear life. The rush was incredible, but I was just warming up.
Then came Saw – The Ride. Known as the world’s scariest coaster, it lived up to its reputation. The gut-wrenching drops and horrifying twists had my nerves shot by the end. But there was no time to recover; I had my eye on the park’s latest addition: Hyperia.
Hyperia is the talk of the town, and I’d been dying to experience it for myself.
As I jumped to the front of the queue, thanks to VIP tickets courtesy of the press office, I could hear the excited chatter of people who had just ridden it, and it only made my anticipation grow. When it was finally my turn, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves like never before.
As soon as the ride started, I knew this was going to be something special. Hyperia takes you on a journey through twists, loops, and inversions at breakneck speeds. The feeling of weightlessness and the sheer intensity of the ride were like nothing I’d ever felt. By the time we hit the final drop, tears were streaming down my face – not from fear but the overwhelming exhilaration.
Stepping off, I couldn’t help but laugh at myself. Who knew a ride could make me cry from pure joy? Had the hysterical laughter and crying gone on much longer I would have needed a spare pair of knickers… Hyperia isn’t just a roller coaster – it’s an emotional one, and I won’t forget the thrill of those few minutes any time soon.
Thorpe Park, you’ve outdone yourself!
