Prince Harry has made a thinly-veiled jibe at tech lord Elon Musk, blaming his social media site for the recent UK riots.
During a headline-making visit to Colombia, Harry appeared alongside wife Meghan Markle to talk about the perils of social media. The Sussexes centered around the digital dangers dominating society, driving forward their crusade for cyber safety. And while at the EAN University in Bogota Prince Harry talked about social media, reports the Mirror.
He said: “What happens online within a matter of minutes transfers to the streets. People are acting on information that isn’t true. It comes down to all of us to be able to spot the true from the fake. In an ideal world those with positions of influence would take more responsibility.

“We are no longer debating facts. For as long as people are allowed to spread lies, abuse, harass, then social cohesion as we know it has completely broken down.”
Meghan backed her husband’s words, and talked about how parents should raise their children. The mum-of-two said: “We should model how we want our kids to be raised and for the world in which we raise them.”
She went on: “It doesn’t matter where you live. It doesn’t matter who you are. Either you personally or someone you know is a victim to what’s happening online. And that’s something we can actively work on every day to remedy.”
Harry also plugged the Archwell Foundation during his talk, singing the praises of its latest endeavour, the Parents’ Network project designed as a haven for parents grappling with the fallout of online pitfalls ensnaring their kids and kin.
The pair also visited a local school, Colegio Cultura Popular, talking with the kids about the serious issues of online safety and cyberbullying. The duo arrived in Columbia on Thursday.
