Tourist hotspot hearth as big clouds of smoke billow from iconic London constructing

A huge fire has broken out in the centre of London as Somerset House is engulfed in flames.

Around 10 fire engines have rushed to the scene on the Strand and around 70 firefighters are currently tending to the scene. An official warning that other buildings around the Strand will be affected by the flames and smoke.

Black smoke can be seen in the London skyline, with several onlookers rushing to social media to enquire about the scene. Currently no casualties have been reported.
