Music legend Rod Stewart has made a sobering admission after missing out on a huge milestone performance.
Stewart, 79, had to take to social media to tell his fans he wouldn’t make his milestone 200th performance in dazzling Las Vegas yesterday due to illness.
The rock sensation was all set to wow the crowd for his 200th residency performance but had to announce just hours before the show that he faced a major health hurdle, much to the dismay of his supporters.

The star reached out to his followers, sharing his sorrow and saying: “Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me.” A gutted Rod added: “I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully we’ll now be returning in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.
“I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear,” he admitted. “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket,” Rod added.
He’s planning to rave on for as long as possible, stating: “I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few – probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”
That said, the cancer-beating father of eight admits that he’s taking his health more seriously these days.
But it wasn’t all doom and gloom, as Penny Lancaster, Rod’s wife, jumped onto Instagram with a spirit-lifting family snap, captioning it with the sweet words: “Happy Memories.”
The joyful image originally came from Nicola Stewart, Sir Rod’s daughter-in-law who’s hitched to his lad Liam, reports the Mirror.
Sir Rod Stewart oozed charm in the family snap, donning a crisp white blazer and striped trousers, while getting down to his son Sean’s level with a playful crouch. His wife was also there alongside their lads Alastair and Aiden, joined by Rod’s daughters Ruby and Renee.
