Renée Zellweger and her younger on-screen lover Leo Woodall looked besotted with each other as they filmed the final scenes for the latest Bridget Jones film in Borough Market on Friday.

The actress, 55, who has played the titular character in the past three films, is currently shooting the fourth instalment, Mad About The Boy, in London.

In the upcoming film, Bridget enjoys a fling with a hunky toyboy named Rockstar, who is played by One Day star Leo, 27, after meeting on social media.

And sparks looked to be flying between the characters, as the actors enjoyed a romantic late-night stroll.

The pair were seen walking past Bridget’s iconic flat above The Globe Tavern, where the character lived in the first films.

The street outside was famously the site for the iconic fight between Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver in the first film as they vied for Bridget’s affections.

However, The Mail on Sunday previously revealed that Bridget will give up her famous bachelorette pad in favour of a family home in leafy Hampstead, North London, where many scenes have been filmed in the past few months

Renée looked on cloud nine as she burst into laughter during filming, while chatting to a beaming Leo.

She put on a stylish display in a floral dress and pink cardigan, while adding thick black tights and a denim jacket for warmth.

Pulling her hair up into a simple blonde ponytail, the Oscar winning star sported minimal makeup as she filmed the date night scene.

Leo looked typically handsome in a plain yellow T-shirt and dark jeans, with a green collared shirt over the top.

The fourth instalment in the acclaimed franchise is based on the book of the same name by Helen Fielding.

It follows Bridget as she battles motherhood alone following the tragic death of husband Mark, who was played in the previous films by Colin Firth.

As well as her love affair with Rockstar, the lovable diarist will also explore a romantic connection with her son’s PE teacher Mr Walker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, while also reviving her on-off relationship with Hugh Grant’s Daniel.

However, despite Mark being killed off, The Mail on Sunday has revealed Colin will still be making an appearance in the film.

In the book series after Mark marries Bridget, he sadly later dies while working abroad as a human rights lawyer, leaving her a widow.

After Colin’s name was absent from the cast list, fans feared his character would not appear at all in the fourth film.

However, in exclusive photographs from the set taken last month, Renee is seen lovingly interacting The King’s Speech star.

It was revealed that Colin’s return was meant to be a huge surprise, with film bosses desperate to keep it under wraps.

A source said: ‘Colin was always going to appear in the movie but it was supposed to be a secret.’
