One drinker, Laura, said: “I came up for a pint in the sun – I wasn’t expecting to see a Christmas tree.”

“August is far too soon, we’ve not even had Halloween yet.
“It’s rather depressing to be reminded that winter is on its way.”
And in response to the Home Bargains range, Samantha said: “I absolutely love Xmas like love it but this is ridiculous haven’t finished summer holidays yet it had Halloween ! Far to early!
“It’s all about money in retail I guess.”
However not everyone was disappointed to see the festive cheer spreading in summer.
Some pointed out that starting the Christmas shopping now means you can spread the cost over multiple pay days.
And Emma Jones, 35, added: “Christmas is the best time of the year.
“The earlier the better, I started buying Christmas decorations and presents in January! Merry Christmas, I say.”
