Football fans have joked Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea reign is like an “X-Factor boot camp” after another star was frozen out of the first team.
Maresca, 44, has shown his ruthless side after pitching up at Stamford Bridge over the summer – telling the club he has no need for big names such as Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell.
The Italian has also flogged former talented academy such as Conor Gallagher and Ian Maatsen. While the likes of Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah and Romelu Lukaku are all closing in on exits ahead of Transfer Deadline Day.

And, according to The Guardian, French defender Axel Disasi could be the next on the chopping block with Maresca snubbing him in favour of Tosin Adarabioyo. While Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have established themsleves as the Blues’ starting centre-backs.
Benoit Badiashile, Renato Veiga and Adarabioyo are all also competing for the spot.

Disasi only joined the Blues last summer, to the tune of £40million from Ligue 1 side Monaco, and he went on to make 44 appearances in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino. However, his lack of technical skill means he may struggle playing out from the back under Maresca.
“This is like X-Factor bootcamp. Need live reactions of everyone who’s making it through to the judges’ houses and who is getting culled,” one fan joked on social media platform X.
“Conor, Raheem, Axel, unfortunately you will not be going through individually, but we think you’d make a great boyband in Madrid,” a second joked. While a third said: “Mudryk is the novelty act that will make it through to the live shows…”
And another added: “Maya Jama probably comes to visit once a week whilst the squad are sat by the fire pit!”
