Taylor Swift followers hit out at influencers for presented Eras tickets

Swifties online have slammed influencers who were gifted with tickets to the Eras tour, hitting out at the ‘fake’ fair weather fans who they claim aren’t as deserving of a ticket as diehard supporters.

Taking to social media, many were horrified by social media stars, including Love Island cast members Liberty Poole and Lucinda Strafford, posing for their photos during emotionally poignant performances like Marjorie and All Too Well (10 Minute Version).

Elsewhere, some were angered by the bloggers’ writing incorrect lyrics in the captions.

In some instances, influencers have even revealed they received death threats for admitting they were ‘not a Swiftie’ before having the chance to go to the concert.

Tallulah-Mai Metcalfe, 16, attended the performance at London‘s Wembley Stadium on Thursday evening.

The content creator, who has more than five million followers on TikTok, was invited to the concert by Babyliss and decided to accept the tickets and go to see the American pop singer.

But Tallulah-Mai admitted that she was ‘not the biggest Swiftie’ in her caption, which infuriated fans who have missed out on the opportunity to see her.

Some tickets for the show have been reselling for thousands of pounds and even the restricted view seats have been fully booked up at a hefty price.

One 12-year-old girl even flew to London from Hawaii without Eras Tour tickets in the hopes of last-minute luck.

Tallulah-Mai posted glamorous pictures of her dressed in a champagne-coloured sparkly mini-dress and cowboy boots overlooking the packed arena.

She wrote in the caption: ‘Just want to say a huge thank you to Babyliss for kindly inviting me to the Taylor Swift eras tour.

‘Even though I wasn’t the biggest Swiftie before, after last night’s performance that opinion has definitely changed so thank you for giving me that opportunity as I had the best time EVER!’

But fans of the Bad Blood singer took to the comments to express their thoughts on the situation, with some saying that it was unfair.

However, many Swifties also took to the comments to warn their fellow fans to not ‘cross the line’ in their replies, and showed support for the influencers. Others also defended some of the social media stars being called out – including Lucinda (pictured) – who has documented being a Taylor Swift fan on her social media

Tallulah-Mai address the criticism on her TikTok account and claimed she had been getting ‘death threats’

Taylor Swift fans took to the comments of her Instagram post to express their thoughts on the situation, with some saying that it was unfair

One wrote: ‘I know that you got invited here but I am so sad that some people who are actual Taylor fans can’t get to the Eras Tour even though it’s their biggest dream.’

A second penned: ‘You got ‘gifted the tickets’ and accepted them when you were re-posting TikToks a month earlier saying how annoying her songs were, bit weird if you ask me. Trend chaser.’

A third said: ‘Girl you didn’t even take a picture of Taylor.’

A fourth commented: ‘Didn’t she re-post about not being a Swiftie?’

The backlash caused her to address the criticism on her TikTok account where she explained that she went with her friend who is a ‘die-hard Taylor Swift fan’.

She said: ‘Since I went to this concert I’ve been getting so many vile, horrible messages through my DMs and comments section.

‘[People] have made videos of me, just horrible vile things. I’ve been given literal death threats on Instagram about going to a concert and I find that utterly disgusting.

‘Why would I want to be a Swiftie when this is how they act? This is how they act towards other people.

‘I’m surprised if anyone wants to be a Swifite. Not someone who like Taylor Swift fans, that’s fine. A Swifitie? The last thing I want to be if you’re acting like that, absolutely not.’

Tallulah-Mai said she was allowed to ‘not like some of the songs’ and that it shouldn’t bother anyone.

Tallulah-Mai filmed clips ahead of going to the Eras Tour with her friend in London, after going earlier this month

Her clip responding to the alleged abuse  got more than 165,000 likes and comments with people expressing their views on the situation

The influencer then addressed Taylor enthusiasts who accused her of ‘stealing their ticket, adding that she didn’t even spend ‘£1’ at the concert and that the experience was gifted.

Tallulah-Mai then asked for the hate towards her ‘to stop’.

‘I reposted a video saying I wasn’t a Swiftie because I’ve seen how they act, they’re horrible, not all of them,’ she said.

This clip got more than 165,000 likes and comments with people expressing their views on the situation.

One wrote: ‘This is why people hate Swifties (coming from a Swiftie)’

Another penned: ‘Swifties who act like that are absolutely disgusting.’

A third wrote: ‘The Question is ‘Why wouldn’t you go’ especially if it’s just been gifted. If you like the music and you have a chance to go to a concert with your mate go.’

A fourth commented: ‘I know all songs and lyrics from them but I don’t like calling myself a Swiftie because of this exact reason.’

Elsewhere, Swifties hit out at Love Islander Liberty Poole for not only taking a photo during the notoriously emotional All Too Well (10 Minute Version) ballad, but posting the wrong lyrics in her caption.

‘I got that red lip classic thing thing that you like,’ she penned – instead of  the actual Style lyrics, which reads: ‘And I got that red lip classic thing that you like.’

She also called it the ‘Era Tour’ – rather than the Eras Tour.

‘Why tf are these influencers who know NOTHING about taylor swift and WHO CANT SPELL THE NAME OF THE TOUR CORRECTLY getting tickets to the eras tour,’ one commented.

‘Completely undeserved and those tickets should have went to a REAL SWIFTIE and not a fake one.’

Another slammed: ‘Why in the world would you ever take photos during all too well…? we already know you aren’t fans but at least show a little interest, you got to fulfill the dreams of many people who just couldn’t.’

‘So embarrassing of you – can’t even spell the name of the tour correctly or check the lyrics,’ a third penned.

Elsewhere on X, people claimed that ‘brands sending influencers to the Eras Tour is their villain origin story’.

Many felt it’s unfair for those who didn’t manage to get tickets – or found it inaccessible to do so.

‘Watching countless influencers who don’t even follow Taylor on socials go to the eras tour when I turned 22 two days before the second set of Wembley shows knowing I was still on the waitlist was painful,’ one wrote.

Another quipped: ‘Yes because the tour needed even more promotion then it already had via random influencer with less than 500k followers who couldn’t care less about the show happening in front of them, apart from ‘being seen at the eras tour’ because it was ‘the event to be at this summer.’

People also felt many of the influencers didn’t get into the spirit of the tour with their outfits or accessories, instead looking like they were just on a ‘casual night out’.

However, many Swifties also took to the comments to warn their fellow fans to not ‘cross the line’ in their replies, and showed support for the influencers.

Others also defended some of the social media stars being called out – including Lucinda – who has documented being a Taylor Swift fan on her social media.
