Russian inmates in the Volograd region have taken guards hostage, with reports some have been killed.
Lags are understood to have taken control of the facility, with reports that at least one person has been killed. Meanwhile, reports also indicate that multiple members of staff at the prison have been injured. IK-19 Surovikino penal colony, roughly 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) west of the region’s capital city Volgograd, has seen images surface from it that appear to show an inmate holding a weapon standing over a bloodied prison officer. The images have not been verified.
