Jermaine Jenas’ courting historical past – from mannequin spouse to daughter heartache with ex

Jermaine Jenas is no longer at the BBC – after being sacked for alleged inappropriate conduct in the workplace.

The storm started when a female colleague at The One Show highlighted unsolicited flirty text messages allegedly sent by Jenas.

According to The Sun, other women have also allegedly since come forward to complain about the former footballer who was muted to replace Gary Linekar on Match of the Day.

Below, we look at the dating history of Jenas, who had a daughter with an ex-lover before he got married to model Ellie Penfold.

Former Relationship

The years 2007 and 2008 were an exciting time for Jenas who was excelling both on and off the pitch.

The midfielder was starring for Spurs under new manager Juande Ramos and he ended up lifting the Carabao Cup with the club – the last trophy won by Tottenham Hotspur.

But more importantly, Jenas had become a father for the first time, something he spoke about with pride in the press.

He mentioned his little girl, Sancha Natasha, after being awarded the man of the match after scoring twice against Wigan Athletic in November 2007.

Jenas credited his former girlfriend for his performance after admitting that she was doing the hard yards at night time with the baby so he could focus on football.

He celebrated his two goals alongside teammates like Robbie Keane and did the rock baby celebration in front of the White Hart Lane crowd.

Speaking afterwards, he said: “My girlfriend gave birth to our first child last week so the goals were a tribute to her. She has been brilliant and I’ve had no sleepless nights. She knows I’ve got games and I can’t be interrupted so she was more responsible for the goals than me.

“Being a dad is a new experience for me. My first love has always been football and then my baby has come along and I’ve realised there are more important things in life.”

However, despite his realisation, the relationship with the mum did not last, and the little girl ended up being raised in America.

Her mum emigrated to the states when Sancha was seven and Jenas now only sees her when she visits for the holidays.

Speaking to the Daily Mail last year, he said: “My eldest is 15 and she’s from the first relationship I had and lives in America now with her mum.

“She was here until she was seven and then her mum decided that she wanted to go and live in the States because she met a guy from America, and they got married and had a family.

“We came to the decision to co-parent in the best way we possibly could, but she comes over every summer and I have her for a good 8-9 weeks and she comes over at Christmas as well.

“She is due over any minute and we all can’t wait in the house. Every year she comes home she’s different, I’m dealing with a 15-year-old and it’s like oh God, but it’s loads of fun. She’s the big sister and the fun one who knows how to do TikTok’s and when it comes to Jacob my baby, she’s basically a babysitter.

“She picks him up and walks around the house with him on her hip, it is crazy for me because she was a baby and I watched her crawl around the same house that I’m in now and she’s picking up my son and I’m like, that’s your brother, I can’t get my head around it… it’s all gone so fast.”

Jenas described her as a “really good student” who was excelling at sprinting, football and American football.

He also joked that he tried to get rid of her American accent on visits and he added: “It was worse when she was younger, she used to turn up and say ‘daddy, can I have a popsicle?’

“And I used to just ignore her and say ‘what did you want? What’s another word for that?’ And she’ll say, ‘ice cream or ice-lolly’ and I’ll say ‘okay, go and get one.’ And then she’ll say, ‘daddy can I have a soda?’ She’s too old now for me to crack the same jokes now!”

Jenas finding love again

Despite the pain of his daughter later moving abroad, Jenas managed to find love again in 2009 after getting together with former model Ellie Penfold.

They even got married two years later but speaking about how the romance blossomed, Jenas said: “It was love at first sight when I saw her, but not for her. She wasn’t impressed by this cheeky, cocky guy who thought she’d be bowled over when I drove up in my Ferrari.

“She actually made me get rid of the car because it was too noisy! She’s told me she thought when we first met that I was a bit of an over-confident idiot, but I won her over finally.”

The couple went on to have three children together and they dote on two daughters, Geneva and Olivia, and also their newest addition who is called Jacob.

Jenas lives with his wife and three kids in a luxury £1million house in Hertfordshire and he told the Belfast Telegraph that Ellie was the “rock keeping the family going through tough times”.

And speaking about how they navigate difficult moments in a previous interview, he said: “We are 15 years deep into our relationship and there isn’t anything we won’t talk about whatever the frustration may be, we will have that conversation but that has only happened in time. It actually came from being sick of arguing.”
