Sabrina Carpenter has opened up about her previous tendency to fall in love quickly following her split from Barry Keoghan

The Espresso hitmaker, 25, appeared on Amelia Dimoldenberg‘s Chicken Shop Date on Friday as she spilled all on how she falls in love.

As Amelia probed: ‘Do you find it easy to fall in love?’ Sabrina joked: ‘What a question to spring on me in this chicken shop?’

She then continued: ‘When I was younger I fell in love very easily and now I fall in love a little bit more….I don’t want this to sound sad but I maybe just fall in love with some more knowledge.’

‘Yes because you have got more experience,’ replied Amelia, as Sabrina teased: ‘Well so they say.’

The singer seemed to be making reference to her recent relationship with the Saltburn star, 31, after the pair made their first offical red carpet debut as couple at the Met Gala in May.

The couple first crossing paths at PFW in September last year before being spotted on a date a few months later.

However now the pair have reportedly split after Sabrina  dumped Barry almost three weeks ago due to the Irish star’s wild partying and him acting an ‘idiot’ when intoxicated.

A source told The Sun about their supposed split: ‘Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated’.

‘He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month.’

MailOnline have contacted Barry and Sabrina’s reps for comment.

According to PEOPLE their relationship is ‘on and off’ after the Espresso hitmaker left their relationship undefined in an interview earlier this year.

When asked by Rolling Stone if she refers to Barry as her boyfriend she said: ‘How do I skirt around this question?’.

Sabrina released her new album Short n’ Sweet on Friday and her racy new song Taste dropped to a resounding fanfare as she shares a steamy kiss with Jenna Ortega in the video

‘The [dating] pool is the pool, and when you meet people that feel authentic and are so brilliant and amazing in every way, that’s what you do. Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be so surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about.’

She concluded: ‘That’s something that comes with the territory.’

Sabrina released her new album Short n’ Sweet on Friday and her racy new song Taste dropped to a resounding fanfare.

The music video, in which she shares steamy kiss with Jenna Ortega, got more than 1.5 million on YouTube in just three hours.

Meanwhile the lyrics tell a story that may shed some light on Sabrina’s own love life, as they reveal saucy details about an ex-boyfriend.

Although she does not name any particular man in the lyrics for Taste, she tells a juicy story about an ex who has gotten back together with a previous flame.

Jenna, 21, and Sabrina, are depicted fighting over a man played by Rohan Campbell, who starred in Halloween Ends.

The competing girlfriends rip each other to pieces in the riotously pulpy video, which is apparently inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s movies.
