Jermaine Jenas reveals that even his canine has turned towards him

Jermaine Jenas has revealed that even his dog has turned on him since he was dismissed from the BBC over sex-texts.

The former One Show host is trying to save his 13-year-old marriage to Ellie Penfold, who he said was ‘absolutely raging’.

But now it seems he has upset his four-legged friend at home as well.

Jenas, 41, admitted that ‘even my dog looked at me disappointed’ after allegations surfaced that he had sent inappropriate text messages.

He was sacked by the Corporation after complaints about his conduct, with a junior staff member raising concerns over the flirty texts.

The Jenas’s family dog, a Rottweiler-type, is thought to be a protection dog trained by firm Chaperone K9

Jenas’ pet is thought to be one of several protection dogs trained for footballers by Chaperone K9.

The firm counts stars Marcus Rashford, Mark Noble, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba, who’ve all spent thousands of pounds on guard dogs, as its clients.

Jenas’s dog also featured recently in a bizarre video posted by the former Premier League player before he was axed by the BBC.

The clip shows the ex-One Show host bragging about ‘securing the coin’ before drinking a pint, adding: ‘You just feel like you’ve earned it, you feel like you deserve it.’

Near the end of the clip the camera is seen panning towards his Rottweiler-type canine.

Jenas also revealed that he had had ‘difficult conversations’ with his children after receiving the first calls from the BBC while on a family holiday in Marbella.

He told the Sun that he feared his two eldest daughters, aged 11 and 16, would be subject to bullying because of his scandal.

Allegations about Jenas are also being investigated by TNT Sports and TalkSPORT

He said: ‘I’ve let everyone down. When you’ve got kids, man.’

Jenas began co-presenting a talkSPORT drive-time show moments after it was announced he had been removed from all BBC presenting line-ups. It has since been confirmed that he will not appear on the station again ‘in the immediate future’.

Bosses at the radio station and TNT Sports are said to be taking the allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ very seriously and have launched their own investigation.

Just hours after being axed from the programme, Jenas was removed from The One Show’s Facebook cover photo, while a Match of the Day mural which featured him was removed from the BBC’s Quay House home in Salford.

Reference to the former footballer also appears to have been removed from the website of talent agency M&C Saatchi Merlin, with his bio page now coming up with a ‘not found’ message.

The ex-footballer also fronted L’Oréal’s ‘WingMen’ campaign, alongside Jamie Redknapp and Peter Crouch, promoting skincare products for fathers.

The father-of-four said he broke the news of his dismissal to his wife on Monday, whom he says has kicked him out of the bedroom and is ‘just making sure the children are OK’.

Although couple are said to not be speaking, Jenas praised Penfold, 26, as an ‘amazing wife’.

He said: ‘My wife is solid and she’s amazing. She is kind. She just needs some time.’
