Football fans have joked their weekend has been ruined after Tara Mae Kirk failed to score in an 8-0 rout.
Kirk, 21, was part of Peterborough Women’s side as they clashed with Lincoln City Women in the FA Women’s National League Division 1 Midlands on Sunday. And Kirk often goes vial on social media thanks to her goalscoring exploits.
However, she had to play second fiddle on Sunday as he team-mates Keir Perkins (1) Katie Middleton (3) and Lauren Wilshaw (1), Niamh Connor (2) and Frankie Pim (1) shared the spoils.

“8-0, nothing for Tara Kirk, fraud watch,” a third said, while a fourth joked: “An 8-0 everyone eats session but no Tara Kirk goal? We’ve been robbed!” And another added: “8-0 and Kirk didn’t score once? Smh!”

Kirk had been hooked in the 69th minute for Pim – who netted Posh’s eight, and final, goal of the game.
Former Leicester striker Kirk often finds herself on the scoresheet, and speaking about her own game, she said: “I’m quick off the mark, quite sneaky inside the box and unpredictable, but my main aim when I’m on the pitch is to find the back of the net.”
She even had fans joking she should have won the Puskas award late last year after one particular strike against Sunday’s opponents.
However, as only a semi-pro footballer Kirk also has a second job and she works in event management – gaining her qualification at Champions UK PLC. She recently graduated from Loughborough University with a BTEC in business, management, marketing and retailed support services.
