Alexander-Arnold reveals his true colors after he is hooked by Liverpool boss Slot

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold took to social media to express his feelings after the Reds coasted to a solid 2-0 victory over Brentford.

Despite the team’s impressive performance, which saw goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah seal the deal, Alexander-Arnold didn’t seem too chuffed about being yanked off the pitch with 18 minutes to spare.

Post-match, even with right words from boss Slot, the England defender’s mood was noticeably soured. Speaking after the game, Slot made light of any speculated rift with the Reds’ deputy captain, whose contract is due to expire next summer.

He defended his choice to replace Alexander-Arnold, explaining, “I understand. Every player wants to play 90 minutes but I don’t think the players who were on the bench from the start were really happy with the choice I made.

“Trent came back from national team where at the beginning of the tournament (European Championships with England) he played quite a lot and then he didn’t. He had a few weeks off and then came back.

“It’s only his third game and we have to take care of him as well because we need him for the whole season and not only the first two games. What a good thing for me is that I have a very good backup with Conor (Bradley) as well. We are taking care of Trent, but he played a good game,” reports Liverpool.com.

Alexander-Arnold hit up Instagram to share his joy over Liverpool’s latest win against Brentford, with a heartfelt shout-out to the supporters: “First win at home. Fans were incredible as always.”

His post was peppered with action shots of him exiting the pitch, saluting the fans, and whipping in a corner.
