Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy shared a kiss while getting ice-cream in The Hamptons on Monday.

The Beatles singer, 81, treated his wife of 13 years, 64, to a refreshing snack as they enjoyed some quality time together in the sun.

For their romantic outing, Paul wore a ‘Liverpool’ shirt from his collection with The National Portrait gallery.

He paired this iconic T-shirt with a pair of black trousers, sensible trainers and a black cap.

Nancy looked elegant as ever for their romantic date as she wore a floaty blue and white summer dress which she paired with a cardigan.

In keeping with the sunny spells, she finished her look with some brown sandals and an oversized straw beach hat.

Their public display of affection comes as Liam and Noel Gallagher are to set announce Oasis’ long-awaited return this week.

Oasis was heavily inspired and influenced by The Beatles and the reports of their comeback have fans already gearing up to battle it out for tickets to potential reunion shows.

However, despite the feuding brother seemingly putting their issues aside, it appears that fans of the duo can’t do the same.

The sibling’s fractious relationship came to a head in 2009, after a backstage fight in Paris led to Noel, 57, leaving the iconic Britpop band

But, as conversation surrounding the suspected reunion shows circulates on social media, a heated debate has erupted between Gen Z and Gen X.

Some middle-aged fans believe younger listeners shouldn’t be allowed to go if they ‘didn’t live through’ the band’s prime in the nineties and 2000s.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Brits of all ages quipped their thoughts, with some insisting that tickets should to ‘over 40s only’ and others arguing that you can’t ‘gatekeep’ Oasis.

Fans wrote: ‘Wincing at all the under 25’s jumping on the Oasis bandwagon. If you didn’t live through it the first time you’ve got to sit this one out for the dads and the aging indie kids. Sorry I don’t make the rules.’

‘Imagine waiting 15 years for Oasis to reform only to lose out on tickets to Chloe, 21 from Stockport who just wants to hear Wonderwall live #oasisreunion.’

‘Why are you gatekeeping Oasis LMAO.’

‘First dibs at Oasis tickets should go to the over 40s only. What do you reckon?’

‘There needs to be a solid selling structure on these #Oasis tickets & by that I mean Gen Z are banned from buying them.’

‘Can’t wait to not get tickets to #oasisreunion after two decades of waiting. Looking forward to seeing it second hand via some gen z’s TikTok who thought Oasis was a drink until yesterday.’

‘If Oasis get back together I hope tickets are bought by people who want to be there, and love their music. Not teenagers who only know Wonderwall!’

‘Who are you to decide who should go or not. Who cares if they only know one song but absolutely love it Give ya head a wobble.’

‘Gen Z acting like they know oasis. Have a day of will ya #Oasis.’

The recent rumours were amplified when Liam closed his set at Reading Festival on Sunday and teased that an announcement could be made on Tuesday at 8:00am.

A short clip of a sign in the style of Oasis logo was projected on a large screen above the stage and subsequently shared to Oasis and Liam’s official Instagram and X accounts.

Liam, 51, also dedicated Oasis track Half The World Away to his estranged brother during his headline set.

Now according to reports plans for the reunion were agreed to during a late-night phone call after Noel ‘dug his feels in for a long time’.

A source told The Sun: ‘Noel and Liam are never going to be the best of friends but they want to bring Oasis back for the fans’.

‘Noel dug his heels in for a long time but has finally caved and agreed to return.

Before adding: ‘He spoke to Liam on the phone and they are on the same page. They know this reunion will go down in music history’.

MailOnline have contacted Noel and Liam’s reps for comment.

The fiery social media debate also comes as a 2005 video has emerged of a crazed Oasis crowd breaking through steel barriers at a gig among scenes of ‘absolute carnage’ – which begs the question of how Gen-Z fans would cope among such scenes.

Amid the fevered anticipation, some have expressed their concern over the ‘horrendous’ and ‘terrifying’ crowds that were common at previous Oasis shows with others wonderful how Gen-Z Taylor Swift fans would fare at the band’s new gigs.

A video of the band’s 2005 show at Manchester Stadium resurfaced, showing an ‘ocean of bodies’ in the crowd surging the steel barricades and breaking them down.

Sharing the clip on social media, one fan predicted: ‘Here’s an Oasis crowd from Manchester in 2005, who literally split the steel barricade at the front of the venue during the band’s first song. They’re gonna need barricades ready for war for this reunion.’

However, several said they hoped there would be changes made if Oasis reunited, with people recalling the ‘absolute carnage’ at past gigs and the ‘worst set of alleged fans I’ve ever come across.
