The band dubbed “America’s answer to Oasis” were renowned for their rock and roll lifestyle that rivalled the Gallagher brothers, with a volatile sibling relationship at the group’s heart.
After teasing a much-longed-for reunion earlier this week, everyone’s favourite warring brothers Liam and Noel have finally buried the hatchet, today (August 27) announcing a 14-date tour.
The news comes after their infamous Britpop band Oasis split in 2009 after the siblings publicly fell out with each other. Commenting on the comeback the siblings announced: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
While the Gallaghers were exploding onto the scene in the early nineties, across the pond the band touted as the “American Oasis” were hitting the Billboard charts as well as headlines…for similar reasons as their English counterparts.
Formed in 1984, American band Black Crowes were made up of the Robinson brothers – singer Chris and his guitarist Rich.
Their most popular album ‘The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion’ came out in 1992 and, in the same way Oasis liked to recycle music from the past, was very much inspired by the rock and roll of the 1970s.
And just like the Oasis brothers, the Robinsons had an at-times explosive and toxic relationship which led to the band separating in 2015. The Black Crowes beat Oasis in reforming however, getting back together in 2019 to record again.
Although Oasis are famous for their on-stage rifts and lairy behaviour, when they toured with the Black Crowes in the nineties, they were “shocked” by the level of physical violence from the Robinson brothers.
Speaking on the Howard Stern show in 2020, Rich said “we freaked [Oasis] out when we toured with them. They were like ‘woah’ – it was intense even for them.”
“We really wanted to hurt each other,” agreed brother Chris. “But we had one rule – no punching in the face.”
Speaking about one of their infamous skirmishes, Rich said: “We got into a massive fight at the [Maryland, US, venue] Merriweather Post. Chris was late to soundcheck and everyone was freaking out.
“We got into the fight – Liam and Noel were outside listening and laughing! If we had to do it again, I wouldn’t change anything,” said Chris.
Tickets for Oasis’ tour are set to go on sale at 9am Saturday, August 31, available from Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours and Seetickets. A further ten dates are on standby if, as expected, the shows sell-out in record time, with the tour expected to rake in more than £400m in revenue.
