One of the UK’s longest-running Oasis tribute bands has reported a significant increase in popularity following the surprise announcement of a reunion by the original Gallagher brothers.
Stevie Brown, frontman of Oasiz, revealed that his tribute act has “never been busier” since rumours of the Manchester rockers’ comeback started circulating last week.
The 45-year-old, who established the cover band nearly two decades ago with his elder brother on guitar, mirroring the Gallaghers, gained viral fame last year when fans mistook him for the real Liam Gallagher during a performance. Liam, who was recuperating from hip surgery at the time, even commented on the videos.

Mr Brown, an avid Oasis fan who has seen them perform ten times and once even journeyed to New York for a gig, will be among the millions vying for tickets to the band’s 2025 stadium tour on Saturday (August 31).
However, the Basildon-based father-of-three jokingly wishes his daughters didn’t share his musical preferences, as he’ll have to pay four times the price for tickets.
Mr Brown is extending an invitation to disappointed fans who miss out on tickets to experience the next best thing at one of Oasiz’s gigs. “It has all picked up and is going really well,” he said.
“I had a few enquiries in the pipeline, and suddenly I had four or five messages straight after the announcement.
“All the venues want to put the tickets on sale right away; everyone wants to cash in.
“Since the announcement I’ve not stopped. It’s been a busy couple of days… I can’t even take all the work I’m being offered at the moment.”
He said they are even saying no to work.#
“We find ourselves having to turn work down – gigs that three or four years ago we’d have loved to do. It’s really fashionable again to be an Oasis tribute act,” he explained.
“We want to do it respectfully, but we’re saying if you don’t want to pay £130 to see Oasis or stand with 100,000 people, you can come and see us.”
Mr Brown, the dynamic frontman of Oasiz, alongside his elder brother Marcus Brown as Noel Gallagher on lead guitar, drummer Simon ‘Oz’ Osbourne, bassist Gary Ayres and Matt Straker on rhythm guitar playing Bonehead, says they aim to hit about 50 theatre shows across Britain next year.
Oasiz, who assert themselves as one of around 30 well-known Oasis cover bands and one of the eldest, has also followed the Gallagher brothers’ footsteps by reuniting after a lengthy hiatus though without the drama.
Initiated in 2006, Oasiz vanished off the scene before Mr Brown was mistaken for Liam in some viral TikTok clips last year.
“We did the Butlins circuit and then took our feet off the gas a bit,” Mr Brown went on.
“Then in February last year, the internet go crazy over me – Three videos, ten million views.”
“The comments on the first video – About 80 per cent, probably more even – mistook me for actually being Liam.”
“Liam commented on it saying ‘Silly billies’ or something because they thought I was him.”
