Carabao Cup third-round draw as Arne Slott’s Liverpool face powerful draw

The Carabao Cup draw has handed Liverpool boss Arne Slott a tough tie for his first English cup game in charge of the Reds.

The Reds clinched the trophy in February, triumphing over Chelsea at Wembley. This marked Jurgen Klopp’s final silverware achievement, with Arne Slot now given the responsibility of adding to the Anfield trophy collection.

His first attempt at a cup commences in September, with Liverpool being one of seven Premier League clubs entering the competition at the third-round stage. For the first time, those participating in the Champions League and Europa League were separated, with additional European fixtures putting more pressure on the domestic schedule.
