However, as the new season kicked off on ITV , fans were left puzzled by the first act to try their luck, who began the episode with a bang and earned a whopping four chair turns
However, some viewers were disappointed that the four-piece band is already successful and have ‘performed all around the world,’ boasting an Instagram following of 125,000.
The group, which is currently made up of Delleile Ankrah, Kaine Ofoeme, Ben Sharples and Michael Welch, won the MOBO Unsung Award in 2014 and, in the same year played a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury.
They have also opened up for a variety of artists including superstar Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour in 2016 and Backstreet Boys DNA tour in 2019.
In 2015, Mic Lowry did an interview with International Business Times UK and said they are proud to be working their way to the top and would never do a reality TV singing show.
When asked if they would consider going on a show like The Voice or The X Factor, former member Akia Jones said: ‘No, the shows do well but I think for us the one thing we’ve enjoyed the most is meeting so many new people on the way and we’ve built relationships.
‘I prefer to do it that way than to go on the show and just go big. I’d rather work hard for it.’
Fans who recognised the band took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their confusion as they wrote:
‘#thevoiceuk Mic Lowry are already successful, performing all around the world. Bigger than any artist that’s won the show.’

It comes just after judge Tom slammed Simon Cowell for making talent television shows too harsh.
The Voice coach, 84, took a swipe at the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s approach to contestants and told MailOnline: ‘Well those kinds of talent shows take it too far. Simon Cowell has done that.
‘You know, by saying, ‘Why are you on this show? What makes you think you can sing? Who told you you can sing’. I mean… Jesus.
‘The difference between The Voice and other talent shows is, they can sing. They’ve got rid of those who can’t sing before the first auditions.’
The Sex Bomb singer and Welsh legend returned to his position as a coach tonight for his thirteenth year as the longest-running panellist with the US Black Eyed Peas rapper, Will.i.am.
