Man United ‘goal US worldwide’ for January swoop to exchange England star

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Fulham’s Antonee Robinson, as boss Erik ten Hag faces numerous injury headaches.

The summer transfer window saw the Red Devils spend over £200million, but the Sun reports they are still targeting US left back Robinson due to the amount of injuries in the squad.

Frenchman Leny Yoro fractured his left foot during a friendly against Arsenal just two weeks after being snapped up for £52million in July. Joining him to warm the injury table is England international Luke Shaw, who is injured once again and is set to miss one more match following a calf strain.

Looking to bolster their defensive reserves, United will have to wait until the January window to buy Robinson after the transfer deadline slammed shut on Friday, August 30.

The 27-year-old is in form, notching two assists in his first three games for Fulham, who would reportedly look to value the American at around £30million.

United will face competition from Man City and Italian outfit AC Milan, two clubs that have also expressed an interest in Robinson.

It comes after a successful transfer period for the Red Devil’s who enhanced the entire core of their team throughout the window, with Manuel Ugarte being the club’s sixth and final signing on deadline day.

There have also been some major coups, such as snatching Lille’s defensive wonderkid Leny Yoro from under Real Madrid’s nose.

Funds were generated from selling players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri, who were in the last year of their contracts. Other players were also sold for fees, including Mason Greenwood.

A deadline day drama involving Chelsea and Jadon Sancho went down to the wire before the ex-Borussia Dortmund player was given the go-ahead to move to Stamford Bridge.
