Jeremy Clarkson confronted his ‘sobbing’ co-star Richard Hammond as they rounded up their final show of The Grand Tour.

Adventurous trio, Jeremy, 64, Richard, 54, and James May, 61, are completing their series with a stunning road trip through Zimbabwe in three luxury cars they have always wanted to own.

They will take a Lancia Montecarlo, a Ford Capri 3-litre, and a Triumph Stag around beautiful landscapes in their final escapade together.

The Grand Tour: One for the Road, which launches September 13 on Prime Video, will conclude the former Top Gear co-hosts’ 21 year partnership.

Speaking about their final hurrah, Jeremy shared that Richard was bought to tears while James showed zero emotion.

He said: ‘I’m not saying this in a derogatory way by any means, but James has the emotions of a stone.

‘He just doesn’t do emotions, so there were no tears from him. Hammond, yes.

‘I was surprisingly unemotional in a weird way because I can see James and Hammond any time I want to, they’re only a phone call away, and I’m sure we will.’

Sharing his heartache, Richard added: ‘I’ll be really honest, and they’ll mock me for this, but I’ll miss them terribly. We’ve worked together for twenty years.

‘We’ve worked hard, and we have to egg each other on, and it’s never just loafing about. So, it’d be difficult to recreate that situation.

‘If I go over and visit Jeremy at his farm, it would be to go over and relax. That’s not the same as having to get up at five in the morning and drive for eight hours through the jungle.’

James said: ‘We haven’t planned anything, but I don’t think it will be possible to completely shake them off. I could try.

‘I mean, Hammond’s already asked me if I want to join him in France to drive a car back and I’m thinking, well, maybe I do.

Jeremy previously claimed he is ‘too old and fat’ to continue with the adventurous show

They have hosted 44 episodes of the series, which has taken them around the world on specials to Cambodia and Vietnam, Reunion and Madagascar, Scandinavia, and eastern Europe

‘We can do that without anybody filming it. We can just do it for fun.’

Jeremy previously claimed he is ‘too old and fat’ to continue with the adventurous show.

He told The Times: ‘I’ve driven cars higher than anyone else and further north than anyone else. We’ve done everything you can do with a car. When we had meetings about what to do next, people just threw their arms in the air’.

He also branded himself ‘unfit, fat and old’ as another reason that it was time for the ‘immensely physical’ show to end, following the hosts camping on beaches and racing speed boats in pervious series.
