1000-Lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton leaves zoo on a stretcher after camel chew

Amy Slaton was pictured being wheeled out of a Tennessee safari park on a stretcher on Labor Day – before her shock arrest on drugs and child endangerment charges.

The 1000-lb Sisters star, 36, who was seen frowning in a mugshot, received medical treatment at the Alamo safari park after reportedly being bitten by a camel.

The TV personality looked pained as she lay on the stretcher with her right forearm wrapped in a shirt. The nature of the injury is currently unknown.

Police were called to the park for the camel bite but upon arrival, they noted ‘suspicious odors’ coming from their vehicle, according to the deputies.

A spokesman for the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department told People responding officers discovered ‘what they believed to be mushrooms’ and ‘what they believed to be marijuana’ inside Slaton’s vehicle after smelling marijuana in the car and seeing the drugs out ‘in plain sight.’

Slaton and friend Brian Scott Lovvorn were arrested and face charges of illegal possession of schedule I, illegal possession of schedule VI and two counts of child endangerment.

It was reported two children under the age of eight were in the car at the time of the arrest – it is not known if these are Slaton’s sons who are aged three and one.

Tennessee Safari Park co-owner Claude Conley, 44, denied Slaton had been bitten by a camel, telling The US Sun ‘there is no bruising. She cut her arm on something, it’s not consistent with an animal bite.

‘Her boyfriend or the man she was with was acting crazy, screaming and yelling and all kinds of stuff.

‘He got mad that the police came out there because he just wanted the ambulance to come.’

They were booked into the Crockett County Jail on on $10,000 bond – with a representative confirming the pair were released on Tuesday.

The representative told the publication: ‘Amy’s brother Chris Combs and Hughes bonding company bonded both of them out together from Crockett County jail and they left with Chris.’

They will be arraigned on the charges on Thursday, September 5.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Slaton for comment.

Slaton finalized her divorce from ex-husband Michael Halterman last year.

The couple share two children and had reportedly clashed over their appearance on the TLC reality show.

The pair welcomed their first child, Gage Deon, in November 2020 and their second son, Glenn Allen, in July 2022.

‘There was no support. There was no love. There was no kindness. There was just mental abuse,’ she told People of their marriage. ‘I just got tired of hiding it from people.’

A confrontation between her, her sisters and Michael was shown on season five of the series.

‘That’s the day I left,’ she said. ‘But I was falling out of love with him before that.’

After a lengthy custody battle, the former couple decided to share parenting duties.

Amy rose to fame starring opposite her sister Tammy Slaton on the series 1000-Lb. Sisters. The fifth season of the show premiered late last year.

The star has dropped an impressive 176 pounds ever since having weight loss surgery five years ago.

Slaton introduced fans to a new man before her divorce was finalized and was dating a Michigan man named Tony, the US Sun reports.

By the time her divorce was finalized the couple had been together for around three months.
