Unearthed footage reveals Kamala requested if she is Willie Brown’s daughter

An ABC news profile on the then San Francisco mayor Willie Brown has re-emerged showing the moment a young Kamala Harris is questioned by reporters while on a night out with her lover who is 31 years older than her. 

The profile on Brown by Dianne Sawyer from 1995 portrays Brown as a ‘rogue’ politician who is  ‘notorious for his flamboyant lifestyle, flashy clothes, fancy parties,’ and ‘fine women’ – with Harris featured in the footage. 

‘Are you his daughter?’ a reporter asks in the clip that is circulating ahead of her first debate against Donald Trump. 

‘No, I’m not,’ Harris replies. 

Brown was 60 and Harris was 29 when the pair started dating. 

The resurfaced video went viral on social media, just hours before the ABC News debate Tuesday night between Harris and former President Donald Trump

DailyMail.com has obtained the full video of the 1995 profile.  

The powerful speaker of the state legislature for 14 years, Brown was the most powerful politician in California when he met Harris, and started dating her when he first ran for mayor of San Francisco. 

Brown, now 90 years old, is married but long estranged from his wife Blanche  when he first met Harris.

Willie Brown and Blanche live separately but have never divorced.

Harris was present for Brown’s election party, presenting him with a hat that read ‘Da Mayor’ as he celebrated his victory.

Wille Brown was the most famous California politician in the 1990’s and ran and won a race for mayor of San Francisco in 1995.

Kamala Harris married her husband Doug Emhoff in 2014

 Her relationship with Brown sparked San Francisco gossip columns to muse about Harris and Brown possibly getting married. But the mayor-elect ended the relationship that December after the election. 

Brown continues speaking about Harris, although she has tried to distance herself from the mayor since she first ran for political office. 

‘Willie Brown is not going to be around. He’s gone—hello people, move on,’ Harris said emphatically in a 2003 magazine profile of her as she ran for District Attorney of San Francisco.

There is no mention of Brown in Kamala Harris’ memoir, first published in 2018. 

Kamala Harris married her husband Doug Emhoff in August 2014.
