Sky Sports have been slammed by football fans for “utter woke nonsense”.
Cheeky football fans had been licking their lips at the prospect of Doncaster Rovers’ trip to North Yorkshire to clash with Harrogate Town. And it wasn’t for the thrilling football that would be on display – instead fans were focusing on the scoreboard.
With Harrogate shortened to HAR and Doncaster shortened to DON – well, you don’t need us to spell it out for you. However, Sky were ahead of the curve, shorting Doncaster to DR instead of DON.

“Sky changing Doncaster from DON to DR to prevent the HAR-DON derby Utter woke nonsense,” one fan fumed. While a second, with the surname Harden, shared: “What next? Sky Sports would censor my surname. Game’s Gone!”
“We used to be a country,” a third sighed. And another added: “Also ‘Hard R’ is less funny and has a worse implication than ‘Hard On’!”

Doncaster went into the clash as the early pace setters in League Two, but goals from Ellis Taylor and Josh March prevented them from extending their gap at the top.
Harrogate had needed the three points after a torrid start to the season – losing their last three on the bounce without scoring a goal. However, Simon Weaver’s men were able to take the lead after 27 minutes as Taylor claimed only his second senior goal.
They then doubled their lead as March sprinted clear of the Doncaster defence before rolling the ball past goalkeeper Ted Sharman-Lowe.
Harrogate have now won all five league meetings between the two clubs, moving up to 13th in the table.
