Teenage Burger King employee has bleach thrown at her face in drive-thru assault

A teenage Burger King worker was left traumatised after a customer threw bleach in her face in a sickening drive-thru attack.

Andrea Alexander’s nose “started burning” after the man chucked a cup of liquid at her and drove away without his food. The man, who was driving a red pick-up truck, ordered his food before launching the unprovoked attack on Andrea, 17, local media reports in the US.

She said: “The man came up to the window. I said, ‘Hey, how are you?’ I say that to every customer. I told him what his total was.

“I thought he was reaching to grab money, and when I looked up, next thing I know, he threw bleach in my face.

“At first, I thought it was water because it was really cold. But then I took a breath and my eyes and my nose immediately started burning.”

The attack happened just before 10pm on Tuesday at the restaurant in Union City in Georgia, USA, around 20 miles south of Atlanta.

Andrea says she’s struggled to sleep since the attack and has no plans to return to work.

She added: “The first night, it was hard for me to sleep. I haven’t really got any sleep just because every time I open my eyes, I see somebody throwing bleach in my face.”

Her mum La Toya said the restaurant failed to call police and didn’t even perform any type of first-aid when the substance hit Andrea’s face.

She said: “Whatever their procedure is when some type of emergency like that happens, nothing was followed.”

Union City Police said it was investigating and working to obtain surveillance video. Police Capt. Prentice Brooks said: “We’re looking to look at some surveillance. Hopefully get some more information to locate the perpetrator and get some justice for the young lady.”
