Saoirse Ronan cosied up to dapper actor husband Jack Lowden at the Peacock Theater as they attended the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The actress, 30, looked incredible as she showed off her amazing figure in a draping strapless navy crop top which she teamed with a floor length skirt.

The Brooklyn star added inches to her frame in a pair of towering heels and opted for a dazzling silver choker necklace.

Saoirse seemed in good spirits as she cosied up to her Scottish husband Jack who coordinated with her in a smart navy double breasted tuxedo.

The couple, who tied the knot in July, cosied up for photos on the star studded red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony.

It comes after Saoirse admitted she and husband Jack had ‘high expectations’ of one another after the couple worked together on her new film.

Saoirse takes a starring role in forthcoming drama The Outrun as Rona, a vulnerable young woman in the early stages of recovery who relocates to the Orkney Islands after receiving treatment for alcoholism at a residential rehabilitation centre.

A subject close to her heart, the actress – who admits to having seen the impact of addiction on some of her closest friends – also co-produced the film with husband Jack.

And Saoirse said she enjoyed a strong creative bond with ‘comrade’ Jack, who she curiously refers to by his full name.

She told the Sunday Times: ‘Jack Lowden and I were trying to keep an eye on the representation of Rona, how nothing else matters to her except alcohol but also remembering that she is human, so anyone can see themselves in her.

‘If you find people that you love and you trust creatively, why would you not want to keep working with them?’

‘We have very high expectations for one another — when I tried out Rona’s Orcadian accent on him for The Outrun, he said, “You’re not doing that, are you?”‘

The actress admits she was able to draw from a deep well of experience while preparing for the role, having ‘been on the receiving end’ of the pain and damage caused by addiction.

She said: ‘I’ve watched people I love change because of addiction. There’s a helplessness you feel when you watch someone you love — friends my age and one in particular who I’m close to — go through that.

‘What will be etched in my brain forever is that switch, when the glaze goes over someone’s eyes and they are gone.

‘If you’ve become second best to alcohol you become resentful, so for this role I needed to put my own feeling towards it to one side. And I needed not to be angry about that any more.’

The 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards is set to honor the best of television at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, September 15.

The ceremony will be hosted by Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, who are making history as the first father-son duo to emcee the program.

In 2020, the actors took home their own respective Emmy Awards for their work on their hit series, Schitt’s Creek, which they created and starred in for six seasons.

‘For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,’ they said in a statement to Vanity Fair, last month, while confirming their hosting gig.

The pair continued: ‘We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all.’

The Bear set a new record for nominations in a single year in the Comedy category with 23 (previously held by 30 Rock with 22 nominations in 2009), and Shōgun lead this year’s Drama category with 25 nominations.

The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez, Jon Hamm and Quinta Brunson are among the nominees that are vying for some the evening’s top prizes.
