The Princess of Wales has gracefully stepped back into her Royal duties at Windsor Castle after bravely battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
At the age of 42, Kate shared last week that she had completed her treatment and was keen to gradually resume her Royal engagements.
In a heartfelt video featuring Kate alongside Prince William and their children, the future queen candidly discussed her diagnosis from February, expressing her eagerness to get back to work. She admitted: “My path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
Today’s official Court Circular highlighted: “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle.”
This marks the first official record of Kate’s return to her duties since her initial hospitalisation in January for abdominal surgery, as confirmed by Kensington Palace. Following a two-week hospital stay, she continued her recovery at home, reports the Mirror.

A subsequent cancer diagnosis led to a regimen of preventative chemotherapy. Last week, Kate was praised for her openness about her “complex, scary and unpredictable” cancer journey.
Kate also reflected on the profound impact of her health struggles, stating: “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
Kate has opened up about the support she received from her husband Prince William, 42, during her health struggles, saying they took time to “reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.” She also stated: “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus.”
In a recent video, Kate expressed her eagerness to return to work, mentioning: “I am looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months.”
Back in May, when a report from the business taskforce she helped establish was released, calling on companies to make early childhood a priority, Royal insiders revealed that the princess was “excited” about the progress.
The taskforce found that the UK could benefit economically by a whopping £45.5billion if businesses implemented strategies to support early childhood, offering parents more resources and workplace flexibility. At that time, palace officials confirmed that Kate was “kept informed” about these findings.
During a meeting focused on early years initiatives, Kate was joined by members of her Kensington Palace communications team and her early years group. Royal insiders have indicated that Kate plans to gradually return to her Royal duties, starting with working from home and attending select events. She is anticipated to join other Royals at the Cenotaph come November for Remembrance Sunday.
The Princess of Wales was last noted in the Court Circular for her attendance at Wimbledon in July, where she watched the men’s final with her nine year old daughter Charlotte and sister Pippa.
On Tuesday, Prince William also carried out an engagement when he visited the 22 Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) to meet individuals who have recently been deployed on operations.
Kensington Palace has not provided any additional comments.
