An 81-year-old New York City woman was knocked to the ground in an unprovoked attack on Manhattan’s Upper West Side – but she doesn’t want to see her attacker go to jail.
A woman who identifies as Gloria was attacked outside of her apartment building on West 66th Street and Amsterdam Avenue around 7 pm on Friday.
The man hit her so hard in the back of the head that she hit her nose on a ledge before falling flat on the ground, surveillance footage, obtained by Fox 5, shows.
Her attacker calmly walked away from the scene after leaving Gloria stranded on the sidewalk while her dog helplessly sniffed at her.
Despite the brutality and the concussion she faced, she doesn’t want him to go to jail. ‘It was not against me,’ she told the outlet. ‘He is sick and he did not really rob me. He did not take anything. He just hit me for no good reason.’

Gloria – who doesn’t remember much of the attack – says she ‘feels lucky’ that the man didn’t have a knife and all he did was hit her.
She was left with a broken nose, severe swelling and a concussion, she told the local outlet.
However, Gloria, who hasn’t seen the clip of her attack, isn’t letting it get to her and she even shocked neighbors when they saw her out and about already.
‘I’m not going to hide in my apartment,’ she told Fox 5.
Misdemeanor assault is up nine percent compared to last year and 15 percent over two years, according to NYPD data.
Gloria’s attack is just a string of stunts against women in the Big Apple, as an older woman was beaten by a caretaker in her home and a group of young women were individually punched in the face in Lower Manhattan a few months back.

Dorothy, 95, was being cared for by the female assistant from Medflyt at Home Health Care Agency on July 21 when she was attacked.
Her daughter and granddaughters watched the attack live through cameras they installed around the apartment in Harlem, but were powerless to stop it.
A video showed the caretaker in a rage, yelling, ‘You p**sing me off,’ at Dorothy before violently throwing two objects in her direction.
Later in the video, she hit her with a saucepan, which Dorothy blocked with her arm, then threw the pot over her head.
Then the caretaker came back at Dorothy with another pan, repeatedly bashing her over the head with it as she clung to her walker until she fell to the floor.
Dorothy was left with bruises, had trouble lifting her arms, and had lots of pain following the attack.

In Spring, a string of women took to TikTok to detail how they had been randomly punched in the face by a man while pursuing Manhattan.
Social media influencer Halley Kate posted a clip after she was struck in broad daylight while walking around New York City in March.
Following Kate’s video, which showed her with a large lump on her forehead after the attack, other women began claiming similar events.
TikTok personality Mikayla Toninato says she got punched in the face when she was walking home from class in a March video.
Toninato said she was looking at her phone and texting as a man came out of nowhere and hit her in the face.
She warned her followers to not walk around on their phones and be ‘super aware’ of their surroundings.

Olivia Brand also said she faced similar horrors, saying in a March video: ‘I literally just got punched by some man on the sidewalk. He goes “sorry” and then punches me in the head.’
Overall violent crime is down 2.6 percent in the City That Never Sleeps, but both felony and misdemeanor assault are up 4.8 and 9 percent, respectively.
Rape and robbery are also up 14 and 1.2 percent, respectively, according to the NYPD.
