Princess Anne’s heartbreaking query to Harry after he missed Queen’s dying

Prince Harry was asked a heart-wrenching question by Princess Anne after he realised he had missed the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The Duke of Sussex was in London with his wife Meghan Markle when Prince Charles informed them that the Queen’s health was deteriorating on September 8, 2022.

Royal author Robert Jobson claims that Charles “banned” Meghan from travelling to Scotland.

Harry alleges that his father later told him “no wives” were going to see the Queen, with Kate Middleton staying in London with her children. At this point, Harry is said to have chosen to take a private jet.

He boarded a charter plane from Luton Airport, scheduled to land in Scotland at 8pm. However, by the time his plane landed, news of the Queen’s death had already spread.

In his memoir Spare, Harry writes: “When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: “Call me when you get this,” reports the Express.

“I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother had died. My father was King.”

Upon arriving at Balmoral, Harry was reportedly greeted by his aunt, the Princess Royal, who had been staying with the 96 year old monarch at the Scottish estate. Harry recalls the heartbreaking question Anne asked when he arrived.

He added: “She asked if I wanted to see Granny. [I answered,] ‘Yes, I do.'”.

Harry spilled the beans on his last visit to his gran’s bedroom, calling it “unfamiliar” and a “difficult” moment. He told US magazine he was haunted by not being there for his mum Diana’s final moments.

The 40 year old Royal admitted he was totally “in awe” of the Queen for soldiering on with her duties right up until the end, even meeting ex-PM Liz Truss just two days before she passed away.

Truss took over from Boris Johnson as the big boss on September 6, but her stint at the top was short-lived, clocking out after just 49 days that’s a record no one wants!

And get your tissues ready folks, today (September 19) we’re remembering the late Queen’s funeral two years ago.
