Passengers of Jet2, Ryanair, EasyJet, and TUI have been issued a stark warning to turn their luggage tags “backwards” on all future flights.
A flight attendant has urgently alerted holidaymakers flying with these airlines about a common yet hazardous error they’re making with their baggage.
The cabin crew member has highlighted this issue to both seasoned travellers and those less accustomed to flying, such as families on holiday, pointing out “the dangerous mistake” frequently spotted at airports across the globe.

A TikTok influencer, who has experience working for American Airlines which operates in some of the UK’s major airports including Heathrow, has gone viral with over 850,000 views by sharing this essential advice with flyers heading off within the European Union and further afield.
Ally Case, an American Airlines stewardess, advised her followers to “always, always, always flip your information on your luggage card backwards”, labelling it as one of her “top travel safety tips”.
She continued, stressing the importance of privacy: “I cannot tell you how many people I see, on a daily basis, with their information displayed for anyone to see. I don’t even like strangers to know my name… No chance I’m going to have my phone number and home address on display.”, reports Birmingham Live.
Another airline employee warned against bringing hardcover suitcases on flights if checking in luggage. Speaking to House of Fraser, she said: “Passengers tend to think that hard-shell suitcases are more resistant than fabric ones, but it’s actually the opposite.”
“Hardcovers can get easily broken by the pressure of the other bags once they’re all packed together in the hold.”
The flight attendant advised: “To avoid damage to your bag, I always recommend choosing a fabric suitcase as these are actually more durable.”
