Man Utd outcast ‘deserves extra respect’ – he is a ‘laborious employee and dependable to membership’

Louis Saha believes Manchester United outcast Victor Lindelof deserves to be shown more respect.

Swedish international Lindelof has found himself frozen out at Old Trafford this season and left on the sidelines. The defender has not featured in a single game, following the return from injury of Lisandro Martinez and summer signings of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.

Saha is not surprised to see Lindelof left out of the side. But he believes the character of the player means United need to think about him more.

Former United star Saha told Casino Hawk: “I’m not surprised to see Victor Lindelof frozen out. Because of the signings of Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro, there are so many players ahead of him, including Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire.

‌”It’s a difficult situation, but I don’t think Lindelof is the type of player to be disturbed and distracted by it. He is a hard worker and is loyal to the club. I’m a big fan of his.”

He added: “I don’t think he would’ve been expecting to play, and he’ll know what he needs to work hard and be ready for any opportunity that comes his way. He’s the type of person who will respond accordingly to the situation and won’t speak out against the manager, because he knows it won’t help.

‌”He is still a good asset and he deserves respect, he will be playing a big part in Erik ten Hag’s plan.”

The Swedish international joined United in 2017 and showed early signs of promise but he has never truly made the centre-back spot his own. Last season, he played just 19 times in the Premier League as Ten Hag’s side were ravaged by defensive injury troubles.
