YouTubers Kirsten and Joerg, a German couple who moved to the UK in 2015, have taken to their channel to share a review of a selection of classic British snacks.

Their reaction to some of the ‘weird British foods’ left viewers in ‘absolute hysterics’, with the shocked couple claiming the taste left them feeling nauseous.

In the video, titled ‘Weird British Foods We Haven’t Tried Before’, Kirsten and Joerg can be seen sitting at their kitchen table with a spread of popular British foods laid out, including baked beans, Marmite, HP Sauce, Branston Pickle, and jam roly-poly.

The pair were not fans of the ‘weird British snacks’

In the video, Kirsten explains: ‘We are going to try weird British food combinations. We’ve been living in the UK for nearly nine years and there’s still some things that we haven’t tried.’ The first food they tried was baked beans on toast, which Joerg seemed to like, describing it as ‘really good and tasty’.

However, Kirsten found the next snack, Branston pickle on bread with cheddar cheese, a struggle. She said: ‘I can see that for the evening, but not in the morning.’

Joerg, however, seemed to enjoy his slice, exclaiming: ‘It’s really tasty.’ Next, the pair put chip butties to the test, with Kirsten finding the dish ‘absolutely disgusting’.

Kirsten dubbed the picked eggs ‘the most disgusting thing ever’ and was shocked by their taste

Things then went from bad to worse, when the unsuspecting couple put pickled onions and pickled eggs to the test. When Kirsten tastes the pickled egg she instantly grimaced and screeched: “That’s the most disgusting thing ever. That’s terrible.”

Joerg was also unimpressed and agreed, adding ‘that’s definitely one thing I won’t have again’.

The footage of the couple testing out these classic British foods left viewers in hysterics, with many agreeing that some of the foods were an ‘acquired taste’. One person wrote: ‘I almost hit the floor laughing when you two tried the egg! I think you should do more shows like this!’

A second added: ‘I had laughed so hard with your response to pickled eggs & onions. I was told it’s an acquired taste but that was 60 some yrs ago. lol. Not trying them again.’
