Half of Gen Z afraid of the darkish and depart lamp on so they don’t seem to be ‘spooked out’

A shocking 47 per cent of Generation Z – those aged 16 to 26 – said they are terrified of the dark. Instead of turning their lights off they leave a bedside lamp on or leave their bedroom door open to help them get to sleep because total darkness spooks them out.

Overall, women are more scared of the dark than men with 41 per cent owning up compared to 20 per cent of men.
